Back Bay Aquatics

A youth water polo and competitive swimming club, moved off a locked-down sports platform onto a lean, fast Webflow site built to be found.

The client

Back Bay Aquatics is a 501(c)(3) youth water polo and competitive swimming club serving Newport Mesa and Irvine, California.

The brief

The club’s old site lived on a hosted sports platform that ranked poorly for the searches that mattered and wouldn’t allow the custom code needed for Google Ads conversion tracking.

The ask was simple on purpose: a lean site that looks good, makes the club (not the foundation behind it) the public identity, and gives search and ads room to work.

What I built

  • A Webflow site on Client-First conventions: Home, Water Polo, Swimming, Coaches, Schedule, Calendar, Alumni, About, Donate and Register.
  • An alumni logo wall of real university logos, grayscale at rest and full color on hover.
  • A custom 404 with the site’s header and footer, replacing Webflow’s bare default.
  • Redirects from the old platform’s URLs to protect existing search rankings as the domain moved.
  • Registration and donations routed to the club’s existing providers, so the site stays simple to run.
  • Analytics groundwork: GA4, Search Console and Google Ads tracking in scope.
